This Cavan golf course offers a stunning Jeff Howes designed, 18-hole course in a magnificent parkland spanning 500 acres of rolling countryside and dense woodland. The two nines are contrasting in nature. The gentle but challenging journey on the front nine explores the undulating meadows of this magnificent estate, while the back nine is a more vigorous test of golf, traversing through denser, more rugged woodland.
The course opens with a gentle par four, but golfers can expect the remaining holes to challenge every aspect of play.
Bunkers are not in plentiful supply at this Farnham golf course, but where featured they are strategically positioned and in the main, quite large and flat. While not manicured as one might expect, the bunkers are aesthetically natural, an overriding feeling of the entire estate.
The greens feature near-perfect texture and allow for a variety of pin positions, facilitating the enjoyment of all categories of golfer. The contours are interesting but sensible.
This par 72 course contains a good mix of holes. Golfers at this Cavan golf course will no doubt find the second hole quite a long par, while the 14th is a drivable one, especially if the wind is in your favour.
